Home - Seaview is a modern detached
house situated on the shoreline in the small hamlet of Glenelg
on the west coast of the highlands of Scotland. Built by the
present owners for their own use on the site of the family
old stone cottage, however work patterns have made this property
available for rent on the self-catering holiday market. This
two story detached house with enclosed garden for children
is extremely well equipped for self-catering and is not available
through agents, thus cutting out their commission. Our prices
have recently been revised since we would prefer repeat business.
The Glenelg coast and surrounding Glens are an area of unsurpassed
beauty and magnificent scenery, where breathtaking and rugged
mountains and coastline merge into the romantic landscape
of deep silent glens and lush forests. Where beautiful beaches
beckon, rivers wander through the glens and sheep wander along
the roads. Seaview which commands spectacular panoramic views
of the shoreline across the sea to the Isle-of-sky, down the
Sound of Sleat to the Cuillins and towards the Atlantic Ocean,
can accommodate eight to ten people on a self catering basis.
Set in tranquil, peaceful rural setting it is an ideal base
for a relaxing holiday away from the hustle of modern life
and the pace of life is what you wish to make it. You can
just relax in this well appointed property and watch the ships
steam by, walk along the shore or in the glens on the single-track
roads or enjoy a quiet drink with the locals in the pub. Sea,
hill loch and river fishing are available in this area. Two
hundred meters away stands a Commando memorial to those killed
in the First World War. The local shop and Glenelg Inn are only five minutes walk, there you can purchase
groceries or bar meals. Glenelg car ferry is three miles away www.skyeferry.co.uk or you can drive to Kyle and cross the Sky Bridge (free).
Pets particularly like the freedom of the area with few restrictions
on access, there is an abundance of wildlife from birds, otters,
cattle, sheep, fish etc and there are numerous walks. For
the more serious walkers there are the five sisters of Kintail
or any of the many surrounding hills. Other historic interests
range from the Pictish Brochs (Scottish Iron Age), General
Wades Barracks to Eilean Donan Castle and further a field
on Loch Ness Urquhart Castle and "Nessie" the Loch
Ness Monster, (if you can see him).
If the weather is not favourable, you have all the comforts
of a modern centrally heated detached house with spectacular
panoramic views.
Outside you can park in the driveway or across the single-track
road, there is furniture and a gas barbecue in the enclosed
garden.
